Nancy A. Hodges

Social Worker

Nancy Hodges joined Thompson Dove Law Group, LLC in 1997 and quickly became an integral member of our team. Nancy brought years of experience in children’s services, including investigating child abuse and neglect, foster placement of children and permanency planning for children into adoptive homes. Nancy obtained a B.S. in Sociology and Business from Ashland University in Ohio and did her graduate work at Xavier University. Nancy is a licensed social worker (since 1989) and is a South Carolina Certified Adoption Investigator (since 1988).

Nancy’s love of her job is evident and she is passionate about her work counseling birth parents and prospective adoptive parents in the adoption process. Nancy has been a leader in the firm’s expansion into ARTS and has sought to educate herself and the counseling staff at James Fletcher Thompson, LLC concerning the quickly evolving and often complex issues of ARTS. Nancy is committed to providing the best counseling services possible to intended parents and gestational carriers.

Nancy has excellent communication and public speaking skills and since 1997, she has provided training for Certified Adoption Investigators, South Carolina Social Workers, the medical field and volunteers across South Carolina. She averages five to six training sessions per year at different venues. In 2011, Nancy was recognized for her outstanding contributions to adoption in South Carolina by being honored as an Angel in Adoption by the United States Congressional Coalition on Adoption in Washington, D.C.

Nancy’s devotion to children and family issues is also evident from her many community involvements, including being a 1990 Graduate of Leadership Spartanburg, Chairperson of the Spartanburg County Infant Mortality Task Force, recipient of numerous awards from United Way of the Piedmont, a participant of Spartanburg County Medical Society Internship Program, and a member of the Spartanburg County Consensus Program.
